"We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize that we have only one" - Confucius. Our founder, Theo Rohfritsch, realized it when his little brother, at the age of 6 years old, had a brain tumour. Despite very challenging years, physically and mentally, his brother fought this scourge and is healthy today!
The past leaves traces… Marked by this experience, Theo, a business school student at the time, felt the need to do more than just doing business. Beyond the limited idea of making profit, he had to find a “useful” meaning to his life.
During travels, he saw that humanitarian and environmental issues were real everywhere he went to. He felt helpless and anxious in the face of these discoveries which represented an uncertain future. This was the trigger. Responding to one of these issues was an idea that gave him hope. Imagine acting meaningfully for humanity & nature, exploring new places while contributing to a mission bigger than yourself… The dream!
Over the years that followed, Theo fundraised to participate/undertake 3 impactful experiences: International Antarctic Expedition, CycleforWater Expedition and Global Himalayan Expedition. He gained first-hand knowledge about the SDGs and contributed to solutions across 4 continents.
Upon his return, his relatives and friends asked him, "Why don't you share your experiences with the next generation to inspire positive change?!". Then Mandela's quote came through: "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world". Eureka! The Dreams Hunter Program was born.
Education is a powerful way to rise to the environmental and social challenges, though, there’s something deeply missing in the education system. You can’t inspire change unless you share inspiring and entertaining content. You can’t convince to act unless you share a practical method and process.
That's why the program is made of 3 complementary elements, to take action in the best conditions: a conference [Inspiration], a course [Method], and a fundraising system [Funding]. It provides a complete training experience to turn anyone into a Dreams Hunter to protect nature and alleviate poverty.
